HR Manager (SG) - Food Sustainability Startup [23M04]

Our client is a fast-growing startup on the mission to reduce food waste and unsold inventory by connecting buyers and suppliers through their proprietary digital platform. They are a venture-backed growth-stage startup team that is passionate about food and has the desire to make sure food is continuously produced in a sustainable way. Their culture is transparent, honest, and direct. 

As Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for partnering with business leaders in Singapore to drive talent strategies that align with the company's vision and values and support the company's fast-paced growth. You will provide HR expertise to enable the organization to attract, develop, and retain high-quality talent and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives

  • Manage employee relations issues and conduct investigations when necessary

  • Identify and address the training and development needs of employees

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with local labour laws and support the company's values

  • Provide HR guidance to business leaders on issues such as performance management, talent development, employee relations, and compliance

  • Develop and implement talent acquisition and retention strategies, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent

  • Act as a change agent to promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

  • Lead and manage HR projects to improve processes, policies, and procedures

  • Coach and mentor line managers on HR issues and best practices

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related fields

  • Passionate about food sustainability

  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment

  • Strong sense of ownership and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of local labour laws and regulations

  • Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Ability to travel within Southeast Asia
